communities of Eagle
Harbor, Riches Corners and the Village
of Albion make up the town of Albion. Although the
majority of the village of Albion is within the town,
a small portion lies within the borders of Gaines.
The village of Albion serves as the Orleans County
seat and as of the 2000 Census, had a population of
7,438. The Town of Albion reported a population of
over 8,000. There is an additional community with the
name of "Albion"
located in Oswego
County, NY.
With
easy access to Bullard Park and the Erie
Canal, opportunities for recreation in Albion are
abundant. Residents enjoy bird watching, cross-country
skiing, fishing, kayaking and numerous scenic trails
suitable for biking, hiking or walking. Albion also

Correctional Facility for Women account for a
substantial portion of employment in Albion.

Area, approximately 30-miles from the City
of Rochester and 40-miles from Buffalo.
