Avon,
New York is a delightful small town nestled on
the eastern banks of the beautiful Genesee
River. Avon is found in rural Livingston
County, the Gateway to the New

The
Census 2000 reported Avon's population as over 6,000.
Within the town limits is the historic Village
of Avon, population 3,000. The community was
named by its English settlers, in honor of the lovely Avon
River from their homeland. During the
Civil War, Avon was a popular tourist resort town, due
to the numerous healing mineral springs in the area.
Much of the architecture from this boom-period has
been preserved, and today the town of Avon has a
charming collection of restored houses and mansions.
The
White Oak Bed and Breakfast is a fine example, a
wonderful Victorian home and one of the first
buildings constructed in Avon.
Avon's
